Obtaining a work visa in Europe
A working visa is issued by the employees of the Polish consulate. Before visiting the consulate, you need to familiarize yourself with the list of necessary documents, fill them out correctly, pay the consular fee, make an appointment to submit documentation, and, if necessary, bring additional papers.
The standard package of documents required for a Polish work visa includes:
- Application for a work visa;
- Photos (2 pcs.);
- Foreign passport (with a copy);
- Internal passport (with a copy);
- Medical insurance policy (with a copy). The policy coverage area is Europe, Schengen or the whole world;
- Documentation confirming the purpose of the trip — a job offer from the Polish side (original).
In addition to the above documents, additional papers may be required (for example, a copy of the marriage certificate, confirmation that air tickets are booked, etc.), they may be invited to an interview.
The application form is reviewed five to seven days after submission and payment of the visa fee. When a thorough check of documentation is carried out, it lasts up to 30 days, in some cases - up to 60.
If the decision is positive, the visa is pasted into the passport. If the refusal is accepted, the stamp with the code remains in the passport. It is possible to appeal the refusal to issue a work visa within a seven-day period. After repeated review, the decision will be final.
Problem moments
Until recently, obtaining a visa to Poland for Ukrainians was not difficult, the Polish side showed loyalty to our compatriots. However, recent political events in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, financial problems have led to an influx of refugees from Ukraine who are looking for work and asylum in Europe. For this reason, the employees of the Polish consulate conduct a more thorough and biased check of the documents, the purpose of the trip. This complicates the issuance of tourist and work visas, and increases the number of refusals.
In addition, there are huge queues at consulates formed by those wishing to leave for Poland. Now it is difficult to get to the reception, or clarify the requirements for the submitted documentation. Therefore, the possibility of obtaining a visa on your own is practically reduced to zero.
