Issuance of Schengen visas for children
When taking a child abroad, will he need a visa?
After the new permit code appeared in 2010, the procedure for issuing a child visa became the same for all Schengen countries. Based on the new rules, a Schengen visa is required for all children, including those under the age of fourteen.
When parents have a paper foreign passport, children under the age of fourteen can travel on it. It is necessary for each child to have a separate blank sheet in the foreign passport, in which the consular employees will make the required marks.
If dad and/or mom have biometric passports, young tourists will have to issue an individual document. A personal foreign passport is issued for children over 14 years of age.

Schengen registration contains many nuances. To achieve a positive result, it is better to take them into account.
For example:
- children under the age of fourteen may travel in the Schengen area only accompanied by parents, guardians or third parties;
- the countries of the Schengen Agreement have their own nuances when issuing exit visas;
- if the mother and child have different surnames, a document confirming their kinship is submitted.
